Capturing your history through protected heirlooms & their precious transfer

Hi, my name is Jaime, and I’m here to restore your precious item and capture it’s story. For you, your family and future generations to enjoy.

Protected Heirlooms

Your item & it’s story – beautifully restored, packaged & illustrated to preserve it in time.

John Bruce Oliver (1909-1998) was a master craftsman and real can-do gentleman with no time for can’t. Together with his wife Anne, they raised three boys through The Great Depression of the 30’s – relying on John’s nous and tools to get them through.

Today, John’s tools are synonymous with the Oliver family’s determined, capable spirit, and also their lasting gratitude to him for all he gave for family. John, your character is ever-present within us all, and for this and what you taught us along the way, we are deeply proud.

Precious Transfer

Your item & it’s story – beautifully restored, packaged & personally noted as a treasured gift.

Sarah, in the early 1960’s your Mum and I played with this toy together every day after school, creating Harold’s next adventure as we went. It was this shared imagination and fun that formed the bond between us today – a bond I am forever grateful for.

Now, we would like for Harold’s new adventures to be with you, in the hope that your Josh and Kayla form a similar closeness. Looking back, it’s bond’s like that with your Mum that have proven most precious over time, proving that from a few seeds it’s amazing what can grow.

FAQs & Things to Know

Do you accept all items to work on?

We want the best for your item, so if we believe there is a better path for it’s restoration, we will suggest this. Fine jewellery and musical instruments are two examples of items that may be considered in this way. We may still be able to help with protecting your item and capturing it’s story however, so feel free to get in touch if you would like to talk about how to best proceed.

Are there any risks with your service?

We are privileged to handle and work on your item, and take every opportunity to care for it whilst it’s in our hands. Unfortunately we cannot accept liability for its welfare however, as every restoration comes with slight risk. This is often due to the age of materials involved and intrinsic aspects of their value. A service like ours would not be possible if exposed to the complexity of such risk. Again, every care is taken and you can be assured your item is well placed with us.

What workshop facilities do you have?

Our base is located in beautiful Tahunanui, Nelson, NZ. It is a small, secure space with seating, a workbench and eclectic range of tools, polishers and tech to get the job done. And, of course, many Things That Matter. You are most welcome to visit by appointment, so please just get in touch to arrange a time if you would like to do so.
